Dress for success

In other words, the more you dress like a professional, the more confident you will feel and the more you will be treated seriously. Self-esteem and confidence go hand in hand with dressing professionally. Always present yourself professionally by investing in a few professional outfits and caring for the details such as a professional hairstyle and modest makeup. You never know where your next opportunity may come from, so act and look professional no matter where you go. Being confident on the outside improves your self-esteem on the inside, and your self-esteem, in turn, alters how people see you. When you’re at the grocery store, at your child’s hockey game, or at a networking event, always look and act like someone who others want to meet and do business with.

Outsource the activities that make you feel inadequate!

In the past, I was limited by my inability to understand bookkeeping and numbers. Look for an expert in that area if you are lacking. Because I was worried about setting up my books and getting my business off to a good start, I hired someone to train me in this area. When I had a system in place, I saw how much more confident I was in this area. As my business grew, I decided to hire this person to handle it all. As part of my business, I’ve hired experts in social media, marketing, event planning, administrative tasks, business coaching, and graphic design. I felt more confident and at ease knowing I was working with an expert who was familiar with various aspects of social media, marketing, event planning, administration, business coaching, and graphic design.

Invest in your own learning!

It is important to participate in your organization’s monthly meetings, to attend classes and webinars, to read business books, and to attend yearly conferences in order to learn the resources you need to succeed both individually and as a company.

Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Whenever I step out of my comfort zone, I experience petrification. I was petrified the first time I called to invite people to my business launch. The first time I talked to someone about a business opportunity was rather than booking a show. In every interaction I had with my company, whether it was my company’s presentation, asking someone to book a show during checkout, conducting an opportunity meeting, conducting a coaching call, or meeting with my team for the first time, I felt fear. The thought of going ahead for the first time was extremely uncomfortable for me, but I WANTED to go!

Practice makes perfect

By practising your sales presentation in front of a mirror, you can increase your confidence in your presentation. For example, if you are not confident, try presenting in front of a mirror.  When you’re feeling comfortable with your performance, try performing in front of close family members. If you are really brave and ambitious, you might consider recording yourself on video. The more you learn about how others see you, the more you will be able to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses. Note where you excelled and where you wish to improve.

In order to know that you can overcome whatever life throws at you, no matter how difficult it feels at the time. It is necessary to face a struggle that pushes you further than you ever would voluntarily. No need to prove your worth to the outside world. It depends entirely on you to convince yourself of your worth. In order to become a successful salesperson, you must be able to answer objections confidently. Your customers will also know that you are true to what you do.

You must be able to confidently answer the prospect’s objections if you wish to succeed in sales. If you believe in what you do, your customers will believe it too. If you want to have true confidence, you have to experience success and failure in both business and life. Most people find this more difficult than they will allow themselves to admit.
